Fancy Food Show Attendees to Taste it Live!

Specialty Food Association

Taste it Live! will present an opportunity for buyers at the Summer Fancy Food Show to taste the depth and breadth of Italian and Spanish cooking. It includes full-day demonstrations on each of the Show days, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at booths 1474 and 1475. Italy, the partner country for the Show, will use products supplied by Italian Pavilion exhibitors to make their dishes.

Italy will highlight the worldwide trend of “Aperitivo Italiano” by preparing a selection of salumi, cheeses, cocktails, and more. The Italian chefs have spent time in the U.S. and will bring some of the American cooking traditions to their Italian recipes; however, “the main mission of the [Taste It Live!] activities is to always guarantee the authenticity of Italian products and dishes. Culinary traditions that have been handed down for decades are the basis of the success of Made in Italy,” Tommaso Ferazzoli, key account sales manager of Universal Marketing, the organizer of the Italian Pavilion, told SFA News Daily.

Olives will take center stage for Spanish foods presented at Taste It Live! Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at booth 1474 there will be live demonstrations of recipes that feature olive products, including black hojiblanca olives, green manzanilla olives, and queen olives. In addition to the tastings, there will be olive-related presentations between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in booths 2331 and 2329.

Buyers are encouraged to stop by to learn about Spain’s “World leadership in terms of production and export, delicious products that combine with an infinite number of ingredients with four basic flavors (sour, bitter, salty, and sweet), the versatility of the product,” and more, according to Gabriela Fernandez, head of North American Region at BrandingAdv.
