Pisqueya
Pisqueya [pees-keh-yah] is a first generation, woman-owned, Latinx-American Food Company that offers heritage-inspired hot sauces and seasonings while filling the gap in Hispanic Caribbean representation in the global food market. Each recipe was born at my family restaurant, the oldest Dominican restaurant operating in Brooklyn since 1986. Not seeing the authentic flavors I grew up with in NYC represented in the market shelves is what inspired me to become an entrepreneur and create Pisqueya.
Pisqueya was born from purpose. Authentic Latin Caribbean flavors are underrepresented in the food industry - there is a disconnect of what my community is and what market shelves represent. The Latin way of living and cooking is fundamentally grounded in principles of farm to table. For us, sabor which means flavor in Spanish is very important and for a very long time legacy brands have capitalized on adding artificial ingredients and fillers to enhance flavor. Pisqueya is changing that by Reclaiming Sabor! Our recipes honor ancient traditions and practices, bringing you and your loved ones flavors that are deeply rooted in heritage & culture. Fresh hot peppers, fruits and oregano are sourced directly from family owned regenerative farms in the Caribbean island of Dominican Republic to ensure that every bottle is packaged with the most authentic flavors, naturally, without any added fillers. Our commitment is reflected in all our products. In this way, through the universal language of food, we live out inclusion by expanding the rich flavor palette of America.
Our top selling products are: Passion Fruit Spicy Sweet Hot Sauce, Scotch Bonnet Hot Like Fuego and Sazón Seasoning.
