Tenayo Foods
Born in El Tenayo, Mexico (how we got our name), Arturo Cruz has been handmaking his mothers salsa recipe in an oldtime bar in lower Manhattan for 20+ years. While many other salsas are "fire roasted," Tenayo is "slow roasted" in an oven for up to an hour. That allows the vegetables to caramelize and get a very unique flavor. This process takes a lot of time and care. We also use no preservatives such as vinegar or lime juice that masks the flavors of the individual ingredients. After completing a two year R&D processes, we are positive Tenayo is one of the most original salsas on the market and the closest thing to a shelf stable pico de gayo. We take extreme pride in our premium brand and are excited to introduce it to the world.
