PINE BROOK, NJ -- December 3, 2021 -- Vegky, a vegan shiitake mushroom jerky snack packed that was launched in August 2019. It all started with the owner, Thomas Hong, and his desire to become vegan since his college days. He had a hard time finding a meat substitute with the tenderness and umami of real meat. He found a type of jerky made from shiitake mushroom stems to eat in place of meat on his dinner plate and a snack in between meals to curb his hunger. #mushroomjerky
#Vegky is committed to donating a percentage of its net proceeds to the Blue Mountain Humane Society (https://bluemountainhumane.org/). BMHS has a mission to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and to foster the human-animal bond. They seek to end animal overpopulation by offering subsidized spay & neuter for community pets as well as a humane catch/alter/release program for feral cats in our area. Vegky will also have it’s package redesigned and will be releasing a new flavor, Smoky BBQ. This will be at the start of 2022 and will be entering the shelves of beef jerky stores. @vegky
