HOOD RIVER, Oregon, February 1, 2022 - Queen of Hearts Superfoods launched an innovative better-for-you line of dressings that is challenging traditional dressings and the traditional agriculture on which they are dependent.
Made with the nutritional seed products of industrial hemp grain – hemp hearts, hemp seed oil, and hemp protein – Queen of Hearts’ Superfood Dressings debut with ingredients and a process that highlight and retain the nutritional integrity of the omega-rich oils of the hemp seed without any compromise in quality.
The hemp seed ingredients of the dressings also excel in helping improve the health of our food system agriculturally. Nutritional hemp makes up almost 30% of each flavor, playing a vital role in supporting the carbon-capture and soil-remediation efforts of the plant on which the hemp seed is grown. Industrial hemp grain plants also reduce water reliance and provide bees a vital source of food during the late, nectar-deprived summer months.
Queen of Hearts is addressing the lack of nutritional quality typical to dressings and marinades with a thoughtful approach to ingredient and process integrity.
“I developed the Superfood Dressing line to help address a health problem – that most dressings are filled with sugar, trans-fat oils, petroleum-based vinegars and other junk ingredients that cause inflammation and poor health outcomes,” states co-founder and CEO, Tonia Farman.
“We took our “free-from” focus a step further and blend with only omega-rich cold-pressed oils, integrating the deep flavors and robust nutritional profile of the hemp seed. We also use a proprietary low-heat process that retains the omega-3s and other essential fatty acids and minerals that help support cognitive, cardiovascular and immune health,” adds Farman.
