LANSING, Mich.— 2022 marks LorAnn Oils’ 60th year as a manufacturer/distributor of premium flavorings, essential oils, and specialty ingredients for the baking and confectionery industries. Pharmacist, O.K. Grettenberger, the grandfather of current CEO John Grettenberger, founded LorAnn Oils in 1962 and named the company in honor of his wife, Laura, and their only daughter, Ann. Originally, LorAnn Oils bottled and distributed about eight to ten core essential oils such as peppermint and clove exclusively to pharmacies. Today, LorAnn’s diverse product lines reach a wide variety of retailers, manufacturers, health practitioners and even home consumers. The company services over 30,000 customers across the globe. As LorAnn heads into this milestone year, progress has touched all areas of the business. Several new products debuted within the past year. Some highlights include a pre-packaged Gummy Candy Mix, Organic Certified Madagascar Vanilla Extracts and Vanilla Bean Paste, three new Super-Strength Flavors: Ginger, Blue Raspberry, and Lychee, as well as a new line of Liquid-Gel Food Colorings. To support their growing international customer base, new bilingual label updates were completed on several key products including LorAnn’s popular Bakery Emulsion line of flavorings.
“In the past decade, LorAnn has grown tremendously, and it’s nice to see the family tradition continue to carry on as we expand our operations,” said John Grettenberger. “Our staff now includes 70 employees, and each person plays an important role in our success. It’s an exciting time here at LorAnn and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.”
Most recently, LorAnn celebrated the grand opening of a second facility in early January 2022. “Consistent growth has challenged us to be more innovative and strategic, which led to the decision to add new equipment and a second facility to meet the demand. High-quality service is key to our success and that means manufacturing top-quality products while providing fast and reliable order fulfillment,” said Chief Operating Officer, Ron Wood. “The second location provides us with more space for our staff, inventory and production and allows for improved efficiencies across our business.”
