Walmart is planning to hire 20,000 new associates across more than 250 Walmart and Sam’s Club distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and transportation offices. In addition, the retailer is holding special hiring events on September 8 and 9 to help fill a wide range of supply chain roles, including order fillers, freight handlers, lift drivers, technicians, and management positions.

To help attract top talent, Walmart says that it will offer competitive pay, job training, as well as health and wellness benefits. It will also cover 100 percent of the cost of tuition and books for employees enrolled in the Live Better U program, which helps supply chain associates to achieve a bachelor’s degree.

“We know that financial stability, health benefits, family support, and career development opportunities are all critical factors to weigh when considering a job, and we aim not to just meet but exceed our associates’ expectations on each of these fronts,” said a joint statement from Joe Metzger, executive vice president of supply chain operations and Karisa Sprague, senior vice president, people, supply chain, for Walmart U.S.
