Walmart has announced it will offer traditional Thanksgiving staples at last year's prices.
“Saving money is a top priority for our customers right now, so this year, we’re removing inflation on an entire basket containing traditional Thanksgiving items,” said John Laney, executive vice president of food at Walmart U.S. in a blog post. “All the basics are there, like turkey, ham, potatoes and stuffing, but the convenience items are there too, like ready-to-heat mac and cheese or freshly made pumpkin pie.”
The prices will remain in effect until Dec. 26.
Similarly, retailers such as Lidl and Aldi have touted discounted prices on holiday staples. Aldi has matched 2019 prices for holiday offerings such as appetizers, desserts, sides, and beverages, with discounts of up to 30 percent. Lidl is again offering a Thanksgiving meal that feeds up to 10 people for less than $30.
