United Supermarkets will open a location in Lubbock, Texas, on Wednesday, June 30, reports Grocery Dive. The “next generation” store includes “thousands of additional square feet” compared to United’s traditional stores and reserved space up front for customers to pick up orders, said United president Sidney Hopper.
The location will also feature ready-made food prepared in-store, such as pizza, sandwiches, and fried chicken, as well as items from local Evie Mae’s Barbecue through a new curbside pickup option.
"This United Supermarkets location represents a culmination of innovation and adaptation after a year of unprecedented challenges," Hopper said.
In addition, the store will feature an in-store bar called Tap House, where customers can purchase craft beer and wine and consume while they shop or on the store’s patio, as well as noodle and sushi bars, a Starbucks, and a full-service bakery,
This marks the opening of the United Family’s 12th store in the city of Lubbock and its 97th location across Texas and New Mexico. Full Story
