SFA Trendspotters to Discuss 2024 Trends

SFA’s Trendspotter panel of buyers, writers, researchers, and industry watchers have declared their picks for the trends of 2024.

During SFA's upcoming Buyers' Market webinar, representatives from the panel will dive into each of these emerging and continuing trends to discuss what’s driving them and what we can expect to see on retail shelves and menus in the coming year.

The webinar will take place tomorrow, November 16 at 1 p.m. EST. It is free for members and $19 for non-members. Register now.

SFA News Daily asked trendspotter Johnathan Deutsch of Drexel University, who'll sit on tomorrow's panel, what his standout trend for 2024 is.

"Upscaling the home dining experience," he said. "As the economy remains volatile, restaurants still struggle with staffing, and food prices are still higher than they were pre-COVID, diners are voting with their feet and wallets to have great home cooking experiences. Some fine cheeses, oils, tinned seafood, premium fresh or cured meats, or finishing salts—along with a decent bottle of wine—can elevate a daily home dinner to an at-home dining experience for a fraction of the price of dining out."
