The Central Market Preston Royal location in Dallas has reopened following a 20-month rebuilding and restoration process. The store closed in October 2019 after it experienced significant damage from tornados in the area.
“Our Central Market partners and the entire Preston Royal community stepped up during this time of rebuilding and recovery,” said Stephen Butt, president, Central Market/H-E-B Division, in a statement. “While this was a total community effort, I am especially proud of our Preston Royal partners who have gone above and beyond to continue to serve this neighborhood. The silver lining here is that our Preston Royal store is stronger and better, and we are ready to welcome back our loyal customers to provide them the service and shopping experience they deserve.”
The rebuilt store has a modified floorplan to incorporate new features inside and outside the store, including curbside pickup, an expanded café area, and self-checkout registers. The location also features expanded produce, seafood, floral, grocery, cheese, and wine selections, as well as a sandwich bar and a coffee bar.
“The effort to rebuild what was lost has been a true partnership with our retail and community stakeholders,” said Patrick Krejs, managing director at Regency Centers, the developers of the shopping center, in a statement. “Our teams have been working tirelessly together to bring Preston Oaks back to life, and to do it safely during a pandemic. I’m proud of the progress made and thrilled to see Central Market opening their doors again to the community.”
