Publix Plans First Kentucky Location

Specialty Food Association

Publix is planning its first store for the state of Kentucky. The 55,702-square-foot Louisville location will also feature an adjacent Publix Liquors store, the first of its kind to be located outside the state of Florida.

The grand opening date has yet to be determined and will depend on several factors, including permits and completion of the store’s construction. However, the store is anticipated to open during the fourth quarter of 2023, said Publix.

“Being company owners, Publix associates are committed to providing the highest level of service and quality products to exceed our customers’ expectations,” said Publix CEO Todd Jones, in a statement.
“Moving into Kentucky is a natural progression for our company, and we are excited to serve and be a part of this vibrant community.”
