PepsiCo is planning to release the new plant-based snacks and drinks it created through its joint venture with Beyond Meat by early 2022, reports CNBC.
“This is only the beginning of what I think is going to be a game-changing venture,” Pepsi CEO Ramon Laguarta told CNBC.
The partnership, announced in January, gives Beyond the changes to leverage Pepsi’s production and marketing expertise and Pepsi the change to broaden its investment in plant-based categories.
In addition, Pepsi has launched a new initiative called Pep+, which is meant to put sustainability at the center of the company’s operations. The goals under the initiative include reducing plastic use, accelerating plans to reduce sodium and added sugars in its products, and spreading regenerative agricultural practices. The company also said its incorporating more diverse ingredients into its products, like chickpeas, plant-based proteins, and whole grains. Full Story
