PCC Community Markets, the largest community-owned food market in the U.S., has partnered with the University of Washington Husky Athletics for the 2021-2022 season, with the goal of raising awareness of the co-op and supporting Husky student athletics and their fans.
The initiative will connect co-op members and Husky fans through a range of activations including PCC presence at Husky gamedays and promotions in-store for the co-op and UW community.
“Husky fans are among the most passionate in collegiate sports and this connection with another beloved local brand allows PCC to support student athletes in our community while bringing a new audience to the small and mid-sized farms and producers showcased throughout our co-op,” said Darrell Vannoy, PCC's senior vice president of merchandising and marketing, in a statement. “It’s also a great way to generate excitement within our stores for staff, members, and shoppers.”
UW season ticketholders will gain access to unique deals at the co-op’s 15 locations across the Puget Sound area. PCC will have a presence across a range of sports, including football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, and softball.
“We are excited to welcome PCC to the Husky community for this coming season,” said Jason Butikofer, COO at the University of Washington, in a statement. “Each year, UW Athletics looks to partner with brands that support the spirit of our university and PCC’s commitment to our local community is representative of our athletes and entire program.”
