As part of its strategy to “start a new chapter,” U.K.-based grocery chain Morrisons is inviting shoppers to attend management meetings and holding monthly customer roundtables, reports The Guardian. The effort was enacted by the retailer’s new CEO Rami Batiéh.
Batiéh said that “listening to customers and colleagues will show us the way” to the company’s next phase of development.
“Since the pandemic, Morrisons has not been on peak form. Our market share has slipped slowly and consistently and [underlying] sales have been below the pack for a while,” he said.
The CEO said that the customer panel could offer insights during major meetings into areas the retailer can improve. Shoppers can give their views on pricing, service, and product assortment, and are being asked about their opinions by executives.
“We are beginning to have a new mindset in the company, a high-performance culture,” said Batiéh. Full Story
