As part of its goal to hireĀ 20,000 associates for retail, ecommerce, manufacturing, supply chain merchandising, logistics, corporate, pharmacy, and healthcare roles, The Kroger Co. is hosting its second nationwide hybrid hiring event, including virtual and on-site interviews, next Wednesday. Its first event, where it set out to hire 10,000 associates, took place in June.
"The Kroger Family of Companies is eager to welcome 20,000 associates to our organization as we prepare for an incredible holiday season where customers are planning to return to larger family gatherings and celebrations," saidĀ Tim Massa, Kroger's senior vice president and chief people officer, in a statement. "It's an exciting time to work in grocery retail, and as one of the leading retailers and employers in America, we're committed to offering associates a culture of opportunity and career with purpose, competitive pay and benefits, and flexible schedules. We truly want our associates to have a rewarding and uplifting experience while meeting our customers' needs and delivering on our promise to be in-stock, fresh, and friendly."
The news comes a day after Target announced it will pay hourly employees $2 extra per hour during peak holiday periods, and as Publix endeavors to hire 30,000 employees during the remainder of the year.
