Hy-Vee Opens 'Reimagined' Store

Hy-Vee’s first “entirely reimagined” grocery store in its eight-state territory will open today in Grimes, Iowa.

The approximately 93,000-square-foot store is the first to offer a new dining experience for customers with a large, open food hall dining area for fast-casual dining, which includes Hy-Vee’s new breakfast menu; a pub with full bar and outdoor patio; HyChi & Hibachi; Nori Sushi; Chowbotics; Market Grille Express; Long Island Deli; and a Wahlburgers restaurant.

“The Grimes Hy-Vee is our most innovative store to-date with state-of-the-art technology integrated into every department,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, CEO and president of Hy-Vee, in a statement. “From unique lifestyle company partnerships to a world-class Food Hall and everything in between, this store was designed to provide customers with every offering, amenity and convenience to make their lives easier, healthier and happier.”

The store also offers a full-service bakery, delicatessen, meat counter, and seafood, as well as an expanded health department featuring a larger selection of vitamins and sports nutrition options, a large fresh produce area, an in-store Starbucks, expanded floral and gift shop departments, and a pharmacy with a drive-up window.

Additional in-store offerings include DSW shoes and accessories, Joe Fresh clothing, The W Nail Bar, a Pair Eyewear kiosk, a Johnson Fitness & Wellness showroom, and an expanded Candy Shoppe department. This location also has a Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits department featuring a walk-in beer cooler, walk-in humidor, and walk-in wine room.
