H-E-B opened its Frisco, Texas location, yesterday. The 118,000-square-foot store is the multi-format flagship banner of the retailer and joins a network of six Central Market locations that have been in the area for over 20 years.
The store includes a barbecue restaurant, True Texas BBQ, a home store, pharmacy, sushi and sashimi options, and more. Curbside pickup and home delivery are also available.
“Opening our flagship H-E-B format in the DFW [Dallas-Fort Worth] area has been an aspirational goal of ours for many years, and the company has a long-term commitment to serve a broad range of customers and communities across North Texas,” said Stephen Butt, president of the Central Market division and H-E-B board member, in a statement. “The DFW Metroplex is among the most competitive markets in the nation, and our H-E-B Partners are committed to work hard every day to earn the trust of our customers.”
The new location also features a bakery department with handmade artisan goods, a deli with an expansive cheese selection and charcuterie station, grab-and-go meals from the brand’s private label, a produce section with organic and Texas-grown items, and wellness and nutrition services from licensed dietitians.
The company sought environmental sustainability when creating the store by incorporating LED lighting, and energy-efficient CO2 refrigeration units.
To commemorate the opening, the company donated $10,000 to the Frisco ISD Career and Technology Center—Agriculture and Culinary Arts Program.
“H-E-B is a company known for its steadfast commitment to Texas, and we’re excited they’re now a part of our community,” said Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney in a statement.
