Online retailer Gopuff is planning to open an omnichannel store in San Francisco, reports Grocery Dive. The store will feature digital ordering kiosks and be built to efficiently manage in-store and online orders, according to an application the company filed with the city, which outlines how the store will operate.
According to the application, in-store shoppers will use digital terminals to place their orders, which will then be picked from a product storage area by workers, and brought out to the customer. The storage area will also service online orders.
A company spokesperson confirmed that Gopuff plans to open the San Francisco location along with other retail stores, but declined to comment further on the format or the expansion plan, according ot the report. Full Story
