FMI, the Food Industry Association, has promoted Dana Graber to associate general counsel and senior director, legal and regulatory affairs.
In announcing this promotion, FMI Chief Regulatory Officer & General Counsel Stephanie Harris stated, “Anyone who has had the opportunity to work alongside Dana knows that she is an indispensable member of the FMI team. She is a talented attorney who does a tremendous job helping our members navigate complex and demanding legal and regulatory responsibilities. We’re incredibly pleased to recognize Dana’s dedication to our membership through this promotion."
Graber joined FMI in 2016 as senior counsel for FMI’s government relations team. She provides support to members through regulatory tracking, development of regulatory strategy, and compliance assistance. Her primary focus is labeling and promoting strategies that will result in minimally burdensome and easily implementable rules for both FDA and USDA regulated foods, according to FMI.
Prior to joining FMI, Graber was an associate attorney with Keller and Heckman LLP where she advised domestic and foreign clients regarding compliance with global food additive and food packaging regulations. She also assisted clients with submissions to FDA, addressing food-contact substances and processes used in post-consumer recycled plastics. Prior to attending law school, she spent four years in the consumer packaging industry.
Graber earned her B.S. in Packaging Science from Clemson University and her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. She is an active member of both the North Carolina State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
