Dufour Pastry Kitchens' Arnold Dies

Specialty Food Association

Dufour Pastry Kitchens co-founder Judith Arnold has died. She was 86.

"Judy Arnold was a pioneer in top-quality frozen hors d'ouevres," said Ron Tanner, president of Tanner Food Group and former vice president of the Specialty Food Association. "I once heard Thomas Keller speak about his chef short cuts and he mentioned this puff pastry from New York. Judy was over-the-moon to hear that it was Dufour."

Although she had stepped back from the day-to-day involvement in the company for the past two years, it was under Arnold's direction that sofi Award-winning Dufour achieved its early successes and growth. Her demand for the highest quality standards are still reflected in the brand as Dufour continues to flourish on the path she was instrumental in creating, said co-founder Carla Krasner.
