French food company Danone SA will send about five million bottles of special infant formula to the U.S. in an effort to help alleviate shortages faced by babies with allergies, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Half a million cases of the formula, made by its Nutricia business in Liverpool, England, will be flown in during the coming weeks. The formula is part of the Neocate line used for babies who are allergic to cow’s milk and other proteins.
Danone’s shipments should land by the end of June, according to the report. The company will work through medical distributors to get the products out in the first half of July. Full Story (Subscription Required).
