Dallas-Fort Worth H-E-B Opens

H-E-B officially opened its doors in McKinney, Texas on Wednesday, the retailer’s third store in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. The 118,000-square-foot store joins the recently opened Frisco H-E-B and Plano H-E-B, as well as six local Central Markets.

The McKinney store includes a True Texas BBQ, a full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-through, a gas station, and a Home by H-E-B home décor department. The store also offers H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery.

“Along with an enhanced in-store experience and commitment to top-quality service and selection, our H-E-B Partners are committed to earning the confidence of our neighbors in this growing community,” said Matt LoBello, H-E-B McKinney store leader, in a statement. “We look forward to serving McKinney with the best of H-E-B, and we are excited to provide a dynamic shopping experience.”

Additional store highlights include:

• Bakery featuring handmade breads, cakes, and warm tortillas.

• Deli department with an expansive cheese selection and charcuterie station.

• Sushiya offering handmade sushi selections made in-store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls, teriyaki, and more.

• H-E-B Meal Simple with chef-inspired meals prepared in store.

The building emphasizes environmental sustainability, incorporating several energy-efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting, according to the retailer. The site also features native landscaping throughout the property, and a tree preserve located between the store and residential neighbors.

To give back to the community H-E-B commemorated the store’s grand opening with a $10,000 donation to the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary.

In the DFW area, H-E-B stores in Alliance, Allen, and Mansfield are currently under construction. H-E-B also announced plans to open two discount grocery Joe V’s Smart Shop by H-E-B stores in Dallas, the first locations the multi-format retailer will open outside Houston.
