One of the largest Hispanic grocery chains in the U.S., Cardenas Markets, is partnering with Coin Cloud, a digital currency machine service, to enable shoppers to buy and sell cryptocurrencies directly using cash.
The grocer operates in 59 stores across California, Arizona, and Nevada, and will bring the machine to every location.
“Cardenas Markets’ stores now offer the capabilities to buy and sell digital currencies with cash beginning right here in our home of Las Vegas,” said Chris McAlary, CEO of Coin Cloud, in a statement. “Recognized as one of the largest grocery chains in the country serving the Hispanic community, we are delighted to deliver digital currency to their customers, which includes me as a loyal shopper of Cardenas.”
According to Coin Cloud, a survey found that Hispanicadults in the U.S. have adopted cryptocurrency at a higher rate than the general population.
“Through this unique offering, we continue to deliver on our commitment to meeting our customer’s evolving needs, especially in today’s digital world,” said Prabash Coswatte, COO for Cardenas Markets, in a statement.
Users will be able to purchase over 40 digital currencies including Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Etherium.
