Beyond Meat Debuts Plant-Based Steak at Kroger, Walmart

Specialty Food Association

Beyond Meat is launching Beyond Steak at Kroger and Walmart stores nationwide, select Albertsons and Ahold Delhaize divisions, and other retailers across the country, it announced Friday.

Beyond Steak intends to provide a satisfying experience for meat lovers and flexitarians alike. Each serving includes 21 grams of protein, is low in saturated fat, and is free from cholesterol. Unlike the animal-based option, the plant-based alternative is also free of added antibiotics and hormones, says the company.

“Beyond Steak is a highly-anticipated expansion of our popular beef platform and we’re proud to introduce this innovative product to consumers nationwide,” said Dariush Ajami, chief innovation officer of Beyond Meat, in a statement. “Beyond Steak delivers the taste and texture of sliced steak in a way that is better for both people and the planet.”
