Amazon To Launch Retail Store Analytics Service

Specialty Food Association

Built by the physical retail and technology teams at Amazon, a new Store Analytics service provides brands with insights regarding product performance, promotions, and ad campaigns for U.S. Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores, according to a company blog post. The service only applies to locations where Just Walk Out technology is enabled or Amazon Dash Carts are available.

The shops will use insights to improve the store layout, selection options, availability of products, and promotional opportunities.

The new analytics tools will give brands access to information about how their products are being discovered, considered, and purchased. Aggregated and anonymized data will show how products rank and perform, allowing companies to better understand the path to purchase for their products, and giving them the tools to refine their assortment, merchandising, and advertising.

To protect customer privacy, shoppers can opt-out of their data inclusion, and no video, images, or personal information about shoppers will be shared.
