Amazon 'Just Walk Out' Comes to Nashville Arena

Specialty Food Association

Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators hockey team, will open an Amazon Just Walk Out-enabled store called Twice Daily on November 25, reports Chain Store Age.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Amazon and Twice Daily to add this new technology to Bridgestone Arena,” said Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena SVP of operations Dave Urso in a statement. “This new technology will offer added convenience, and quicker transactions at our Twice Daily stores allowing fans to spend more time watching their event and less time standing in line.”

The location will be the first inside of a Nashville sports and entertainment venue, and, in addition to Just Walk Out, it will offer Amazon One, a palm-based payment service. The arena expects to open a second store with these capabilities in early 2023.

Both technologies eliminate the checkout lines by allowing users to insert their credit card or hover a palm at an entry gate to shop. Once inside, cameras will automatically add items to a customer’s virtual cart, and once the customer leaves, they will be charged for the items taken.

“We are always looking to implement technology solutions that improve speed of service and convenience for customers,” said Michael Geczi, Delaware North’s GM at Bridgestone Arena, in a statement. “Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One will deliver a fast and frictionless experience at these stores–helping to eliminate lines and get fans back to the action faster.”

Employees of Delaware North, Bridgestone Arena’s foodservice and retail partner, will assist as needed, and will be checking IDs for alcohol purchases. Full Story
