YouGov, a data and analytics company, polled Americans to find the top grocers in the last quarter of 2022. Aldi came out on top, with a popularity of 65 percent.
According to the company, popularity is defined as the proportion of people who view the retailer positively.
The following nine most popular grocers are as follows:
• Trader Joe’s (63 percent)
• Kroger (61 percent)
• 7-Eleven (60 percent)
• Whole Foods (57 percent)
• Circle K (51 percent
• Safeway (49 percent)
•Winn-Dixie (44 percent)
•Albertsons (44 percent)
•Publix (44 percent)
The report also broke down the data by generation, finding that Aldi, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s ranked the top three for Millennials; Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Aldi were most liked by Gen X and Baby Boomers alike.
In the third quarter of 2022, 7-Eleven was ranked at the top, but has since dropped down to the fourth position.
Fame was also discovered across retailers, which measured how familiar a survey participant was with the specific store. In this list, 7-Eleven came out on top with a score of 97 percent, followed by Whole Foods at 96 percent, Trader Joe’s at 95 percent, Kroger at 95 percent, and Aldi at 91 percent.
