Company Puts Spotlight on Regenerative Farming Practice with New Florida Farm
New York City, New York — June 24, 2024 — As pioneers in bringing Yaupon - America’s Tea - back to consumers for the first time in over 100 years, Yaupon Brothers is continuing their pioneering spirit with a new 17 acre organic and regenerative Yaupon Holly tree farm in Florida, from which they will eventually source the bulk of leaves for their acclaimed Yaupon teas.
Recognized for their sustainability practices by such publications as Garden & Gun Magazine, Yaupon Brothers is at the Summer Fancy Foods (SUSTA Pavilion, Booth #6309) through June 25th sampling their 100% American grown and made and widely acclaimed Yaupon teas, which are USDA Certified Organic and Regenerative by QCS.
While showcasing their brand new Spiced Peach Yaupon Tea during Summer Fancy Foods, the pioneers in certified organic Yaupon tea are also touting the benefits of the regenerative farming practices they’re employing in their new 17-acre organic Yaupon farm in Florida.
“Yaupon Brothers will plant 25,000+ Yaupon Holly trees at our new farm,” said Yaupon Brothers co-founder and CEO Bryon White. “All Yaupon Brothers’ teas are USDA Certified Organic and we are thrilled to launch our own organic and regenerative Yaupon Holly tree farm.”
“In addition to bringing back Yaupon tea to American consumers and revitalizing the American tea industry, it’s long been our mission to create a sustainable native alternative crop from the caffeinated Yaupon Holly,” White continued.
White said he’s been amazed at the steady ascent of Yaupon tea - both its adoption by consumers and the wide recognition and acclaim both Yaupon tea in general and Yaupon Brothers specifically has received from the media. White cited multiple examples: Whole Foods named Yaupon the #1 top ten food trend for 2023, Forbes Magazine called 2023 ‘The Year of Yaupon’, Bon Appétit Editors named Yaupon Brothers’ Lavender Coconut one of their favorite herbal teas, Men’s Health named Yaupon Brothers American Green ‘Best New Tea in 2023, and Garden & Gun Magazine awarded Yaupon Brothers with their 2023 Made in the South Sustainability Award and ran another piece recommending Yaupon Brothers as an “earth friendly” product. And even more recently, Fast Company Magazine just recently did a piece on Yaupon tea in which Bryon and Yaupon Brothers American Tea Co. was featured and Forbes called out Yaupon Brothers one of their new favorite food brands after Expo West.
White encouraged people to come see what all the excitement is about during the Summer Fancy Food Show and invited people to come learn more about America’s Tea and Yaupon Brothers regenerative farming practices in the SUSTA Pavilion, Booth #6309.
About Yaupon Brothers American Tea Co.
Yaupon Brothers American Tea Co. was founded in 2015 after a few years of research and development and with the vision of bringing America’s tea back to consumers and reestablishing and revitalizing the American Yaupon tea industry.
Our first product - American Green - hit shelves in 2016 making us the very first company to bring Yaupon tea back to American consumers in more than 100 years. Our main product lineup now includes American Green, Fire Roasted, Revive Mint, Florida Chai, Lavender Coconut, and Spiced Peach. Plus we offer a range of specialty and seasonal teas like Raspberry Rose, Pumpkin Spice, and Winter Wassail.
Yaupon Brothers’ teas are 100% American grown and made. Each leaf is hand-plucked, carefully dried or fire-roasted, graded and milled, and hand-packed in our manufacturing facility in Florida. We don't outsource any aspect of production, because we won't compromise on quality. Our facility and our products are 100% USDA Certified Organic.
North American Native Yaupon is the star ingredient of our teas. Yaupon is an antioxidant superfood, it’s got a low carbon footprint because it's not imported from other countries, and since our Yaupon trees are 100% American grown and our teas 100% American made, they create jobs and support farmers in our local communities.
The flavor of Yaupon Brothers teas is familiar, but different. Our Yaupon teas are mellow, earthy, and reminiscent of Asian green teas. Unless they're roasted. Our popular Fire Roasted Yaupon is a deep, bold, and slightly smoky treat. And since Yaupon contains few of the bitter tannins found in imported teas, Yaupon Brothers teas can’t be oversteeped and are never bitter. Similar to a cup of Asian green tea, a cup of Yaupon tea contains roughly 30 mg of caffeine per cup - about 30% less than a cup of coffee.
