Smeraldina Water Launches U.S. Marketing Program After Winning Best Water in the World Honor

The premium Italian water brand targets a U.S. expansion with a rebranded website, social channels, and digital advertising

NEW YORK – May 2024 – Smeraldina, the water brand sourced from the renowned “blue zones” of Sardinia, Italy, today announced its multi-platform U.S. marketing program, showcasing Smeraldina’s rich heritage, uncompromising dedication to quality, and commitment to sustainability. This marketing milestone follows the brand’s prestigious recognition as the “Best Water in the World” at the 2023 Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting.

The company’s marketing program includes a new website and launch of U.S. based social media, event sponsorships, influencer engagement, and media relations. Smeraldina’s new, customized marketing video campaign debuted in New York City’s Times Square and showcases how the brand’s product is derived from the depths of the “blue zones” island of Sardinia, providing clean and well-balanced water for consumers. This year, Smeraldina has landed successful sponsorships across the U.S. to introduce new audiences to the brand, such as the recently completed Miami International Boat Show. In an effort to engage with new consumers, Smeraldina has also partnered with several lifestyle and health social media influencers through creative influencer strategies.

Smeraldina has selected to work with agencies Marino in New York City and Basilico in Italy to execute their new marketing tactics and increase the brand’s visibility in the U.S.  The initial market entry plan was supported through a study conducted by Northwestern University’s Medill School, where students and the company’s team together surveyed consumer sentiment on bottled water and how to most effectively communicate Smeraldina’s unique brand attributes.

Smeraldina’s entire line of still and sparkling waters are available for nationwide distribution through Sysco and by regional distributors Driscoll Foods in the Northeastern United States, Mexcor International in Florida, Chefs’ Warehouse in the Mid-Atlantic, Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in Illinois, and additional local distributors across the country.
