New co-branded SKU features upcycled date sugar packed with fiber & antioxidants
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – November 15, 2022 – Renewal Mill, the upcycled food company leveraging partnerships to grow consumer awareness for the upcycled food movement, has launched a new co-branded muffin mix – this time teaming up with Just Date, a San Francisco-based company reimagining the sugar category by making nutrient dense sweeteners from whole fruit.
These two Bay Area women-owned brands are proud to debut the first upcycled muffin mix on the retail market. Upcycled Chai Oat Muffin Mix, available exclusively online via both companies’ websites, features two prominent upcycled ingredients: upcycled oat milk flour from Renewal Mill and upcycled organic date sugar from Just Date. Like all Renewal Mill products, this mix is 100% vegan and gluten-free, requiring only the addition of oil and water. It’s also the company’s first mix sweetened exclusively with a fruit-based whole food sweetener.
Just Date’s date sugar is a granulated sugar made from a single ingredient - organic dates. It’s the only granulated sugar on the market with fiber and antioxidants, boasting one gram of fiber in each teaspoon and 48g of fiber per cup. Made from dried and ground kentichi dates that historically went to waste, the date sugar is also the company’s first upcycled ingredient.
