Petaluma, California — O Olive Oil & Vinegar, California’s premier artisan olive oil and vinegar maker, announces the release of its first batch of O Olio Nuovo Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a seasonal treat highly prized for its robust, fresh flavor.

Olio Nuovo (“new oil” in Italian) is a small-batch olive oil made from O’s family farms’ first harvest. A generations-old tradition, it’s available for only a few months each fall. It’s the newest addition to the company’s line of robust extra virgin olive oils. Celebrate the annual olive harvest with the freshest oil you can get.

“We are excited to have this flavorful and fresh olive oil join our growing family of oils and vinegars, all produced right here in California,” says Greg Hinson, President and Founder of the company. We asked him why he underscores, ‘Made in California.’ “In Sonoma, California, we happen to be in the middle of the world’s most spectacular farm country with all of its rich land and wonderful microclimates,” he responded. “We have access to the best ingredients and are fortunate to be able to partner with some of the world’s pioneering growers. We’re inspired by the rich variety grown virtually in our own backyard.”

“Just as important to us,” says Hinson, “is to provide products that are sustainable, environmentally friendly, and that maintain a small carbon footprint. We have also found it easier to control for these variables as well as the quality and freshness of our products if we make them entirely in California. Part of the fun of my work is to walk the groves and vineyards where our products begin their journey to the table. Traceability happens to be important to our consumers as well. They want to know where their food comes from. They want fresh, clean, pesticide and herbicide-free food. So, it’s a happy coming together of consumer needs and our own company values. We don’t want to sell anything we would not want to serve our own children.”
