CHICAGO, IL, SEP 1, 2023 - Chicago Importing Company, a national importer and distributor of specialty foods and confections, announces two leadership promotions. These changes, which are effective immediately, represent and support the growth of the organization.
Joseph D’Alessandro has been promoted to Executive Vice President. D’Alessandro first joined Chicago Importing Company in November 2020 as General Manager. D’Alessandro is tasked with leading all business functions including Business Development, Sales, Procurement, Accounting, Operations, Customer Service, and Human Resources, and in bringing best-in-class practices and processes throughout the organization. His prior experience includes many years in small business leadership and entrepreneurship in the food industry in the following sectors: business services, food manufacturing, hospitality, and culinary education.
Nancy E. Fino has been promoted to Vice President, Marketing. Fino joined Chicago Importing Company in August 2017 and will continue to lead and contemporize the marketing, branding, private labelling, vendor relations and e-commerce functions. Her previous experience includes positions in Marketing, Merchandising, New Product Development & Innovation in housewares, candles, home décor, giftware, collectibles, and food gifting.
D’Alessandro and Fino will continue to support company Founder and President, Lars Berntson, in strengthening the company’s foundation into its fourth decade.
