From a porch in Aberdeen, WA in 1938 to a 55,000-square-foot warehouse in Portland, OR, Jacob Hamburger brought specialty foods to retailers in the Northwest. His customers had a saying, if Jacob doesn't have it, nobody does. By creating an ethnic section, Hamburger built a destination for his customers. He was also a major community leader on Portland.
